Because I come from Leah, my great grandmother who ran away from the police in the middle of the night coming to “arrest” her and her elderly husband to send them to concentration camp. She figured she had nothing to lose. She survived. And from her daughter Rosza, who was one of the toughest, smartest women I ever met- absolutely fearless. And from her daughter Lea, my mother, who learned how to fly a plane and skydive at age 50, because she’d always wanted to fly - who never said no to an invitation to celebrate- anything- and who found “it” all endlessly fascinating and wild.
Well, I mean to say “Om Mani Padme Hum”; but lately it comes out sounding more like, “what the fucking hell is this shit?”
The above paragraph is true. And it’s okay because I finally realized its profoundly spiritual to just be an authentic human being.
WhenI need help i have a chat with all the Angels and Saints, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, magical and imaginary creatures, and the invisible beings who like to help, And stuff works out. Not always the way I want it to, but I’m still alive. I hear that’s a good thing.

When do I say it - when I feel anxious, obsessing about something ... (so starting when I wake up and until I go to bed lol)
What powers do I gather with it ... A sense of empowerment that regardless of what's going on around me I can choose how I want to show up... and even if I feel I can't change something externally I can be loving toward myself.
Years ago a professor with whom I admired greatly handed me a folded note and walked off. I opened it and it had just two words...

“Left foot, right foot, breathe.”
