I'll Be Back!
Adventurous and Beauteous Reader!
If you could go back in time and change the outcome of a specific event in your life, what would it be?
And . . . if you altered that single event in your past, would you be better off now? Richer? Prettier? Happier? More famous? More loved? More powerful? More divorced? More married? Or….would you miss out on certain life lessons which make you the person you are today?
While researching the "butterfly effect" (the idea that a little flap of a butterfly's wings one morning in Jakarta can set off a chain of events that ultimately leads to Marilyn Monroe’s skirt blowing up by the blast from a subway vent in New York), I found these photos:
A Two-Tailed Swallowtail by Robert Alexander/Getty Images
Vladimir Nabokov hunting for butterflies in Switzerland, by Horst Tappe/Getty Images
And . . .
Mike Troy (R), the Boy in the Bursting Racing Brief! The Holder of World Records! The Winner of the Olympics! And my old boyfriend! His event? The Butterfly!! Bettmann/Getty Images
