A Deep Question

Immortal and Exquisite Reader! If your life is being issued in installments…

1. What are the titles of the previous installments of your life?

2. What installment of your life are you living now?

3. How many future installments of your life will there be?

4. And what happens in the final installment?

This question has been plaguing me because last night, I gave a reading at Mark Jacobson’s KGB Literary Series from my biography, Hunter, a book about Hunter S. Thompson I wrote in 1993. So my current installment is probably called “The Old Lady Rests on her Laurels.”

. . .But during the reading I showed the audience this photo of Hunter and me at Owl Farm, his ranch outside Woody Creek, Colorado. Look! I am living a completely different and exciting installment of my life (lasting 40 years!) called “Girl Journalist Whoops It Up!!”
