I spent the night interviewing Billy Idol for Rolling Stone, and I opened the piece with Billy (who used Crest toothpaste to make his hair stand up) calling me a cunt. Bob Wallace, the managing editor, refused to print the word. Wallace said, “E. Jean, if Richard Nixon had called you a cunt, I would run it.” Years later Billy talked about it.

So this elegant intro is just to say that this is a newsletter about Cunts.
