Waggish and Beauteous Reader!
Plato had a slam book called The Dialogues.
Castiglione had a slam book called The Book of the Courtier.
And we all had slam books in high School. Even our year books (!) proclaimed Cutest Girl, Cutest Boy, Girl Most Likely to Succeed, Boy Most Likely to Succeed, Best Dancers, Cutest Couple, etc., etc.
Here’s yours truly voted Best Girl Athlete
OF COURSE……we also had our actual “slam books”—handmade notebooks we passed around to our classmates asking enticing questions and saying what we thought of each other.
I’d forgotten about ‘em till the other day when Gloria Horton-Young, our fellow Conflabbian and recent Queen, emailed and suggested we do a slam book.
“Why not take a groovy trip down memory lane,” wrote Gloria, “and dive headfirst into the captivating world of slam books? Remember those blast-from-the-past gems? A notebook or diary passed among friends or classmates, each adding their pizzazz and answering zany questions. It was like a prehistoric Facebook wall but way cooler!”
So…..here’s our Conflabish Slam Book. But with a twist. For each question, give two answers. The first eggzactly as you would have answered in high school. The second as you answer now in 2023.
Here we go……
