Exquisite and Priceless, Reader!
Look at this bloke:
Of course, men wore heels first.
And the chaps continue to look fabulous in them!
The French—NATURALLY—conducted research showing that as the height of our heels goes up, the more men find us attractive. (Not that we need the French to confirm what we all know—we got Beyonce to prove it!!)
Height is a BIG evolutionary advantage. It’s another reason we wear heels. I wouldn’t have dreamed of walking into court in a pair of flats—although the shoe that fell off was a kitten heel. I never wore such low heels again.

So what about you, my darling?
Do heels still give you a sense of ooomph?
How old were you when you got your first pair? How high were they? What color? What brand? What style? What was the occasion?
How often are you wearing heels now?
How many pair of heels currently reside in your closet?
Why do you think we walk around in these things? Why haven’t these hideously uncomfortable toe-killers ever retired?
And, just for fun, what shoes are you wearing today?
Uh, I don’t think so, Halle…..
I haven’t worn heels in probably 30 years.
I’m currently barefoot on the couch, reading.
So, I worked with Kiki, RN. Kiki had a huge scar running down the back of her arm. I asked her (privately in the med room) how she got that scar. She said her husband wanted her to perform a show for him, complete with her wearing a teddy, spike heels, and a stripper pole. Kiki fell off her spike heels, landed on her arm to break the fall, ended up with a compound fracture.
“Girl, I was outta work for a year! I told him if he wants to watch that sh*t, he can watch movies.”
I’m wearing my comfy Hoka sneakers! I am only 5 foot now at 70 years old this year and used to wear really high platform heels in high school and afterwards in the 70s And I love them! But, ever since then I’ve gone with cool but comfy shoes, especially now and have a couple great pair of lower heels that are beautiful and comfy for special occasions, comfort wins for me every time.
