Admirable and Adorable Reader!
Tell us: Are you the same person you were when you were a child?
Some Conflabbians, I notice, feel they have changed dramatically through the decades. They look back at their former selves as aliens wearing whacky outfits and falling in love with idiots.
Others of us feel the same as we felt when we were seven. When we look back, it seems we are remembering this morning.
So tell us. How do you see yourself? Does the self you remember seem like a character in novel written in a foreign language you no longer speak? Or are you the same person you were when you were playing on the Jungle Gym?
I am asking this question because I find that when I ask about who’ve we have been, we all get to read some REALLY fascinating answers. Also I am stealing this question from a brilliant article written by the marvelous Joshua Rothman in The New Yorker.
My wish for us all? May we never stop blowing bubbles.
